Thames TV’s ‘Hazlitt in Love’ starring Lynne Frederick and Kenneth Haigh. From this followed the music for Jeremy Isaac’s ‘Ireland - a Television History’.

Francis’s scores for ‘Shackleton of the Antarctic’ (BBC) and ‘Jamaica Inn’ (HTV) starring Jane Seymour and Trevor Eve were recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Many BBC TV Dramas and Classic plays were scored by Francis Shaw, including ‘The Barretts of Wimpole Street’, ‘Time and the Conways’, Rattigan’s ‘A Dinner of Herbs’, Ibsen’s ’The Master Builder’  Dostoievsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment’, starring John Hurt, and Noel Coward’s ‘Star Quality’.
